UAE’s July Advertiser of the Month – e&, Carrefour, and Dior
e& (Etisalat and) saw the largest growth this month in terms of Ad Awareness in the UAE, followed by Carrefour at number two and Dior in third place. According to YouGov BrandIndex data, which tracks brand perception on a daily basis, these three brands saw the highest increase in Ad Awareness during July.
The Ad Awareness question asks consumers if they have seen an advertisement for a brand in the previous two weeks, and the difference in scores (highest vs lowest) for the month determines our Advertisers of the Month.
e& (Etisalat and) saw its Ad Awareness score rise by 7.7 percentage points, from 36% on June 26 to 43.7% on July 23. As the official sponsor of UAE Team Emirates at the Tour de France, the company engaged customers with a chance to win a trip to Nice, France, to attend the event live. Additionally, a promotional video on YouTube garnered over a million views, further boosting the brand's visibility.
On second place is Carrefour which had an increase of 7.5 percentage points, from 20.6% on June 26 to 28.1% on July 24. The retailer celebrated Plastic Free July campaign by endorsing sustainable alternatives in its stores.
Ranking third on our list is Dior which had an increase of 6.2 percentage points in Ad Awareness from 29.5% on July 4 to 35.7% on July 22, 2024.
Methodology: YouGov BrandIndex collects data on thousands of brands every day. A brand’s Ad Awareness score is based on the question: “Which of the following consumer brands have you seen an advertisement for in the past two weeks?” Data from surveys of adults aged 18 years and above residing in the UAE from 26 June to 25 July 2024. Ad Awareness scores are based on a four-week moving average. The change in scores for each brand is calculated by taking the difference between the highest and lowest scoring days within the period.
