GB: Hilton to install Peloton bikes in its properties - Do customers exercise when on holiday?
Global hospitality company Hilton has announced that its properties in Germany, Puerto Rico, Great Britain and Canada will feature at least one Peloton bike by summer 2023. The move builds on a partnership between Hilton and the American exercise equipment and media company that introduced Peloton’s bikes in all Hilton-branded hotels in the US last year.
But what do Hilton’s guests in Britain think about exercising while on holiday?
According to YouGov Profiles - which covers demographic, psychographic, attitudinal and behavioral consumer metrics - 58% of Hilton’s customers in the UK agree with the statement that “a holiday for me is not a holiday for my fitness routine.” By comparison, a smaller proportion of the general population agrees (32%) and they’re also more likely than Hilton’s customers to disagree (47% vs. 28%).
We also explore YouGov data to see exercise or fitness-related attitudes among Hilton’s customers.
Profiles data shows that a majority of this group (75%) agrees with the statement “I wish I exercised more” - more than the general population (68%). Similarly, they are also more likely than Britons in general to agree with the statement that their “diet is part of [their] fitness” (65% vs. 43%).
Further, 64% of Hilton’s customers agree with the statement that “working out to stay fit is important” to them and 63% of them say that “having a home gym is more convenient than going out to one.” At 34%, Britons in general are less likely than Hilton’s customers (57%) to agree with the statement that “keeping track of my fitness performance helps me set and stick to goals.”
