The Fall of the House of Usher, Lupin and Suits: The most-streamed TV in America, October 2023
The Fall of the House of Usher, Lupin and Suits are the most-streamed titles in America for October 2023. The chart below shows how many views and viewers each title had on the platform where it was most popular. The chart also shows the average number of views per viewer (Vs/Vr), which is an indicator of how much consumers are bingeing a particular title.
Fall of the House of Usher, released October 12, is the most-streamed title in America for October with 157.3m views by 33.1m viewers. The gothic horror series has been one of October’s the most in-demand titles in America, according to social listening tool YouGov Signal, so its blockbuster streaming numbers are no surprise. Inspired by the writing of Edgar Allen Poe, the miniseries follows the fate of a corrupt pharmaceutical CEO whose children start dying in mysterious ways.
The second-most streamed show is Netflix’s French-language thriller, Lupin. Set in Paris, the show stars Omar Sy as a professional thief inspired by the fictional character Arsène Lupin. The third part, consisting of seven episodes, was released on October 5. While part three ended on a cliffhanger, Netflix has not yet announced whether the show will be renewed for a fourth season. October’s streaming numbers will not hurt its prospects.
Great Britain enjoys two entries on America’s most-streamed list. The first is crime/sci-fi series Bodies based on a DC graphic novel. The story begins with the discovery of a body in a London lane, and leads to four detective investigations occurring in four different years.
The second British entry is hit reality baking contest, The Great British Baking Show at number six. Alison Hammond replaces comedian Matt Lucas as host in the latest season. The series appears as “Collection 11 of The Great British Baking Show” but is referred to as season 14 of the Great British Bake Off in the UK.
Suits continues its reign as a the most-binged show on the American streaming charts, with viewers watching an average 14 episodes each in October. This is down from 23 views/viewer in September but it is still comfortably beating any other title on this list per this metric.
