America’s most-streamed TV shows, March 2023: The Night Agent, You, Shadow and Bone
The Night Agent, You and Shadow and Bone are the most streamed TV shows in the US for March 2023. The data comes from YouGov Stream, which is an opt-in online behaviour tracker which collects global viewership data from a panel of more than 160,000 activated accounts. The chart below shows how many views and viewers each title had on the platform where it was most popular.
The Night Agent, a new action-thriller series on Netflix released its first season on March 23. Before the end of the month, it had been streamed 156.1m times and was renewed for a second season. From The Shield creator Shawn Ryan, the series follows a low-level FBI agent’s investigation into a dangerous conspiracy.
YouGov Signal, a tool that tracks online discussion of media titles and other topics, shows that sentiment towards The Night Agent is overwhelming positive, with 77% of the sentiment expressed in online discussion of the show being positive and only 5.3% negative. Signal data also indicates that The Night Agent fans are also more likely to enjoy The Recruit, Tom Clancy’s Jack Reacher and Unseen. The new series bumped killer-thriller You into second place for the month.
Ted Lasso, from Apple TV+, is the sole title from that platform to make the top ten list this month. With 96.3m views from 15m viewers, the comedy was the fourth-most-streamed title of the month.
The only non-scripted show to make the most-streamed top ten this month is MH370, a documentary mini-series about the Malaysian Airlines flight that mysteriously disappeared in 2014.
