Clifton Mark - September 18th, 2024

Apple, Peacock and State Farm are America’s Advertisers of the Month for August 2024. Advertisers of the Month are brands that show the largest monthly increases in Ad Awareness, a measure of how many consumers have seen an ad for a brand in the past two weeks.

Apple is America’s Advertiser of the Month for August, 2024, rising a full six percentage points in Ad Awareness to 38.3%. This means that nearly two in five Americans saw an ad by Apple last month. The computer brand published two major video spots during this period. “Flock” is dystopic sci-fi-inspired ad about internet privacy. “The Relay” depicts athletes with and without disabilities competing side-by-side, to promote Apple’s accessibility features. Some consumers may also have seen the “2036 Hopefuls” edition of the “Shot on iPhone” campaign, which looks at inspiring young athletes.

America’s second Advertiser of the Month for August is Peacock. The streaming platform owned by NBC moved from an Ad Awareness of 21.3% to 27.2% for a total rise of 5.9 points. In addition to ads for the service itself, Peacock also runs well-viewed ads for titles on the service, such as spooky series Teacup and its Olympics coverage.

Insurance giant State Farm rose from an Ad Awareness of 34.7% to 40.5% for a total uplift of 5.8 points. Many Americans have been seeing 15-second video spots such as “Hot Diggity Dog” and “Give Me A Break.”

Methodology: YouGov BrandIndex collects data on thousands of brands every day. A brand’s Ad Awareness score is based on the question: “Which of the following consumer brands have you seen an advertisement for in the past two weeks?” Data from surveys of adults aged 18 years and above residing in the US from June 26 and July 25, 2024. Ad Awareness scores are based on a four-week moving average. The change in scores for each brand is calculated by taking the difference between the highest and lowest scoring days within the period. Learn more about BrandIndex.
