US Advertisers of the Month for October, 2024: American Red Cross, Amazon Prime, and Snickers
October’s US Advertisers of the Month are American Red Cross, Amazon Prime, and Snickers, each showing significant increases in Ad Awareness as tracked by YouGov BrandIndex. Ad Awareness is a measure of the percentage of consumers who have seen an advertisement for a given brand in the past two weeks.
American Red Cross leads with a substantial rise in Ad Awareness, moving from 16.1% to 25.8%, an increase of 9.7 percentage points. The Red Cross likely achieved this boost through campaigns related to relief efforts for recent disasters such as Hurricane Helene and Milton, and blood donation drives.
Amazon Prime follows with a 7.3 percentage point increase, moving from 39.8% to 47.0%. Prime’s increase in Ad Awareness may be related to early promotional activities around Prime Big Deal Days (October 8-9) and the annual Holiday Beauty Haul (October 21-November 3). Amazon has also been promoting the NFL Black Friday game to be streamed on Prime Video on November 29.
Snickers rounds out the top three with a gain of 6.5 percentage points, rising from 19.3% to 25.8%. October’s Halloween festivities have likely driven this jump for Snickers. Video spots about spooky malfunctioning decorations likely caught America’s attention, not to mention prominent displays in supermarkets.

Methodology:
YouGov BrandIndex collects data on thousands of brands daily. A brand’s Ad Awareness score is based on the question: “Which of the following consumer brands have you seen an advertisement for in the past two weeks?” Data from surveys of US adults aged 18 years and above, covering the period from September 26 to October 25, 2024. Ad Awareness scores are based on a four-week moving average, and the changes in scores are calculated by taking the difference between the highest and lowest scoring days within the period.
