September UK Advertisers of the month: Google Pixel, iPhone and Lurpak

Janice Fernandes - October 17th, 2024

According to data from YouGov BrandIndex, which tracks perceptions toward brands on a daily basis, Google Pixel registered the biggest increase in Advertising Awareness for September 2024 of all brands YouGov tracks in the UK. The mobile phone brand saw an uplift of 7.2 percentage points in the observation period.

Earlier in the month, Google launched Google Pixel 9 with Gemini AI. They also announced their partnership with Arsenal FC and Liverpool FC men’s teams while introducing the new ‘Add me’ feature that will be available on the device.

It should be no surprise to find iPhone among the top advertisers this month with the launch of iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro with Apple Intelligence. Its score increased from 17.8% on September 9 to 24.1% on September 25 (+6.3 percentage points).

Rounding up the top three brands with the biggest uplift in Ad Awareness in the UK this September is Lurpak. The uplift of 6.3 percentage points could be associated with the Danish butter brand’s launch of its plant-based butter with a metal-inspired ad.

Methodology: BrandIndex collects data on thousands of brands every day. A brand’s Ad Awareness score is based on the question: “Which of the following consumer brands have you seen an advertisement for in the past two weeks?” and delivered as a percentage. The data is based on the interviews of British adults aged 18+ between August 26 and September 25, 2024. Learn more about BrandIndex.
