August UK Advertisers of the month: Samsung, Nike and Yorkshire Tea
According to data from YouGov BrandIndex, which tracks perceptions toward brands on a daily basis, Samsung registered the biggest increase in Advertising Awareness for August 2024 of all brands YouGov tracks in the UK. The mobile phone company saw an uplift of 5.6 percentage points in the observation period.
Earlier in July, Samsung released ‘The Next Big Thing Is You,’ unveiling Galaxy AI and showcasing its translating capabilities.
Nike is the brand with the second-highest uptick in Ad Awareness. Its score increased from 18.6% on July 26 to 24% on August 24 (+5.3 percentage points). This year, the athletic footwear and apparel brand made an impact in major sports competitions with its campaigns: the Euros 2024 ad, "Awaken Your Madness", and the Paris Olympics 2024 ad, "Winning Isn’t for Everyone".
Rounding up the top three brands with the biggest uplift in Ad Awareness in the UK this August is Yorkshire Tea. The uplift of 5.1 percentage points could be associated with the brand's latest addition of speciality range ‘Caramelised Biscuit Brew’.
Methodology: BrandIndex collects data on thousands of brands every day. A brand’s Ad Awareness score is based on the question: “Which of the following consumer brands have you seen an advertisement for in the past two weeks?” and delivered as a percentage. The data is based on the interviews of British adults aged 18+ between July 26 and August 25, 2024. Learn more about BrandIndex.
