Appetite Score is a value from 0-100 that measures the demand for given brands by combining web searches and Wikipedia lookups. Here are the ones with the highest average Appetite Scores among UK audiences in the first half of 2024 compared to their scores in 2023.
All carmakers on the top ten most searched carmakers list for the first half of 2024 also appeared on the list in 2023, though their positions have shifted.
Ford retains its title as the most searched car brand in Britain for the first half 2024 with an Appetite Score of 95.46. Analysis of the online discourse surrounding Ford shows that the online public may have mixed feelings. Expressed sentiment is 45% positive and 35% negative. The top topics under discussion are the exterior features of various Ford models as well as the brand’s engines.
German luxury carmakers BMW and Mercedes are the next most searched brands in the first half of 2024, rising one rank from the previous year.
Buzzy EV brand Tesla fell two spots from 2023 but remains the fourth most searched in Britain.
The biggest mover on the list is Audi which climbed three positions from tenth to seventh most searched.
