Methodology matters: How researchers can get involved
"Methodology matters" is a series of research articles focused on the survey experience and public opinion data accuracy. The series aims to contribute to the academic and professional understanding of the survey design and promote best practices among researchers.
For the most part, these projects were proposed and carried out by third-party researchers using survey data collected from YouGov’s US panel. Whenever possible, researchers were asked to preregister their research designs and hypotheses prior to data collection, and in each short piece, you can find links to the Open Science Foundation’s preregistration archive.
This series is curated and reviewed by YouGov’s Scientific Research Group (SRG). YouGov takes data quality and survey validity very seriously and conducts ongoing research in an effort to continuously improve our ability to serve a wide range of academic, government and commercial clients, as well as to contribute to the research profession’s knowledge by sharing insights at conferences, in scholarly publications and on our website.
We invite scholars to work with us toward this goal. For researchers interested in submitting their own proposals, you may do so here.
Proposals will be primarily evaluated on the substantive importance of the hypotheses being tested and the feasibility of conducting the study within the constraints available. Proposals will be accepted on a rolling basis.
