April UK Advertisers of the Month: Marks & Spencer and Red Bull
According to data from YouGov BrandIndex, which tracks perceptions toward brands on a daily basis, Marks and Spencer registered the biggest increase in Advertising Awareness for April 2024 of all brands YouGov tracks in the UK not just for food but also in retail. The food section saw an uplift of 7.5 percentage points throughout the month, while the retail side of the business is not far behind with an increase of 6.9 percentage points.
Earlier in April, Marks & Spencer launched its biggest-ever marketing campaign with its latest ‘Farm to Foodhall’ creative starring Michelin-starred chef Tom Kerridge. The new campaign builds on last year’s campaign of the same name.
Additionally, M&S recently restarted its live shopping shows helping shoppers to discover new launches, top trends, and insider tips from the experts at M&S.
Red Bull rounds out the top three brands with the biggest uplift in Ad Awareness this month. The energy drink brand saw a lift of 6.8 percentage points, which may be associated with the brand’s Formula 1 drivers Max Verstappen and Checo Perez taking up the Beach Buggy Race.
Methodology: BrandIndex collects data on thousands of brands every day. A brand’s Ad Awareness score is based on the question: “Which of the following consumer brands have you seen an advertisement for in the past two weeks?” and delivered as a percentage. The data is based on the interviews of British adults aged 18+ between March 26 and April 25, 2024. Learn more about BrandIndex.
