Chalamet rules Brittania: Dune(s) and Wonka UK’s most in-demand Titles for March 1-15, 2024

Dune, Dune: Part Two and Wonka are the most in-demand titles in the UK for the first half of March. The chart below comes from YouGov Signal, a social listening tool that tracks the performance of TV programs, movies and brands.

The titles are ranked by Appetite score, a value from 0-100 that measures the demand for given titles by combining web searches and Wikipedia lookups. Here are the ones with the highest Appetite Scores among UK audiences in the past two weeks.

Sci-fi blockbuster Dune: Part Two was released in theatres on March 1, after several delays. Buzz surrounding this film franchise helped both the first and second Dune installments to reach the top of the in-demand list. Actor Timothée Chalamet plays a colonial-aristocrat-turned-messianic-freedom-fighter named Paul in both films.

Chalamet is also the leading man in the third-most-in-demand title for the first half of March. Wonka, a prequel to the events of Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, was released in theatres in December 2023. However, both Chalamet’s star-power and the fact that the film more recently appeared on Netflix may have contributed to the buzz it enjoyed this month.

British romantic drama One Day premiered on February 8 and has held Britons’ interest. A month later, the film remains the eighth most in-demand title in the UK. One Day stars Ambika Mod and Leo Woodall as a couple who meet at a graduation ball and follows their 20-year relationship.
