Who’s most excited to get their hands on the Apple Vision Pro?

The Apple Vision Pro, Apple’s augmented and virtual reality headset, represents the tech giant’s first foray into the product category. This week, Apple just rolled out the beta version of the Vision Pro’s operating system.

While the company calls it a spatial computer, the wearable device is still a headset and was initially unveiled at the WWDC 2023 event earlier this year. We’re still months out from the Apple Vision Pro’s expected launch but for now, let’s explore how many people are interested in getting their hands on the Apple Vision Pro when it releases in early 2024.

Measuring interest in buying the Apple Vision Pro

In a new poll conducted by YouGov, nearly a fifth (17%) of US adults overall say they’re interested in purchasing Apple’s first ever wearable headset next year.

More than two in five (44%) general consumers, however, show no interest in buying one.

We see that interest levels in the Apple Vision Pro also vary significantly across different demographics, including gender, age and income.

Men, for example, are significantly more likely to express interest in the Vision Pro when compared to women (22% vs. 13%). Likewise, young adults aged 18 to 34 (34%) over-index in their interest in Apple’s new headset when compared to older age cohorts.

We also see differences in interest by household income levels. Those who earn $80,000 or more a year express a stronger inclination towards investing in the Vision Pro compared to those who are below that income bracket (21% vs. 15%).

Apple has announced that the device will cost nearly $3,500 and launch first in the US market with more countries coming later in the year.
