GB: Holland & Barrett to sell Foodspring items - Which dietary supplements do shoppers tend to buy?

British health food chain Holland & Barrett will now house European fitness brand, Foodspring. The health food chain would reportedly be the first UK retailer to stock Foodspring which is bringing its bestseller item (whey protein) first.

We look at YouGov data to see what kind of dietary supplements Holland & Barrett’s customers shop for.

According to YouGov Profiles - which covers demographic, psychographic, attitudinal and behavioural consumer metrics - 13% of Holland & Barrett’s customers and 8% of the general British population purchased proteins and amino acids such as whey protein in the last six months.

Foodspring could find takers among Holland & Barrett’s existing customers for its other dietary supplement offerings too - whenever it chooses to bring those to this market. For example, 70% of Holland & Barrett’s customers bought vitamin supplements in the past six months. Probiotics (27%), dietary minerals like potassium and calcium (22%) and essential fatty acids (21%) are some of the other dietary supplements purchased. Foodspring retails most of these supplements.
