The Last of Us, Daisy Jones and Soccer?! The most in-demand TV & Film in America for March 6-19, 2023

The Last of Us is now the most in-demand title in the US for a month running, followed by Daisy Jones & The Six and the Academy Awards show. The table below is based on data from YouGov Signal, a social listening tool that tracks the performance of TV programs, movies and brands. Appetite Score is a value from 0-100 which measures the demand for given titles by combining web searches and Wikipedia lookups. Here are the ones with the highest peak Appetite Scores among US audiences in the past two weeks:

Zombie-pandemic-apocalypse drama The Last of Us remains the most in-demand title in America with an appetite score of 99.16. The fact that episodes are released weekly rather than dropped all at once is likely to be keeping appetite for the program sharp.

The UEFA Champions League knockout phase is heating up with an exit for Liverpool and an historic five-goal haul for Manchester City’s Erling Haaland. It’s likely we’ll see more of the soccer competition on this chart as the June championship approaches.

In third spot, the most star-studded cast on television got together for the annual Academy Awards show. Signal’s conversation tracker shows that the two most-discussed people at the Oscars were Best Supporting Actress nominee Stephanie Hsu and Rihanna, who performed “Lift Me Up” at the show.

Musical drama Daisy Jones & The Six climbed two spots since the last chart to number two, just behind The Last of Us. With two more episodes yet to be released, Daisy Jones may still climb to the top spot.
