Alphabet’s Google has an answer to OpenAI’s ChatGPT - ‘Bard’. Google’s new conversational AI service is open to “trusted testers”, following which it will be launched for public use “in the coming weeks.” ‘Bard’ aims at generating detailed answers in response to prompts on topics as simple as planning “baby showers” and getting “lunch ideas based on what’s in the (users’) fridge.”

But what do Google’s current customers think of artificial intelligence?

According to YouGov Profiles - which covers demographic, psychographic, attitudinal and behavioral consumer metrics - a majority (66%) of Google’s current customers in Britain agree with the statement that, “We have to pay attention so that the development of artificial intelligence doesn’t get out of hand.” At 73%, Google’s current customers in the US are a little more likely to agree with the statement.

Across both countries, among the general population and Google’s current customers, a similar proportion of respondents agree with the statement that, “I think in the future, artificial intelligence will help humans in most of their daily tasks.”
