US: BitNile to launch new online marketplace – Do Americans use crypto when shopping online?
American crypto mining firm, BitNile, has announced plans to launch its online marketplace, BitNile.com. The platform is scheduled to go live in March 2023 and will be dedicated to goods and experiences that can be purchased using bitcoin.
But is a cryptocurrency like bitcoin a popular payment currency for Americans when shopping online?
According to YouGov Profiles - which covers demographic, psychographic, attitudinal and behavioral consumer metrics - just 5% of Americans use cryptocurrencies when shopping online. Debit card is the top choice (51%) of consumers in the US. An almost similar number make purchases using credit cards (50%). This is followed by PayPal (40%).
