Data was drawn from YouGov BrandIndex which measures consumer perceptions towards brands on a daily basis. The ranking examines the best performing consumer electronics brands between April 1, 2021 and March 31, 2022.
Globally, Samsung tops our list with a score of 122, likely thanks to the array of consumer products it produces and its happy customers; it has become a household name for nearly every major household appliance and entertainment product.
Sony, which has long been synonymous with high-quality home entertainment products, claims the second slot on our list with a score of 116.
Apple comes in third place with a score of 101. The premium personal electronics brand has broadened its hardware offering with some near-universally praised products like the newest MacBook Pro line-up as well as the latest iteration of the AirPods, which have been a runaway success for the firm.
LG comes in fourth place with a score of 60. After closing its mobile phone business, LG has focused on home appliances, laptops and entertainment products.
Philips occupies the No. 5 spot on our list with a score of 52. While the firm manufactures a plethora of devices, its personal care products such as electric toothbrushes, and its Hue lighting products are likely to come to mind first for most consumers.
Canon, one of the biggest players in the camera and printing space, has laid claim to the sixth spot with a score of 51. Microsoft, which released the latest redesigned version of its Windows operating system, comes in seventh place with a score of 41. While consumer products make up a small proportion of Microsoft’s business, its slate of Surface laptop/tablets have gained a significant following. Tech stalwart Panasonic comes in eighth place with a score off 33, followed by HP with 21, and Siemens at 19.
