UK Automotive Advertiser of the Month: Skoda

From this edition onwards, we have changed the methodology for Automotive Advertiser of the Month: where it previously covered only car makers, it now also encompasses all of the car sales, service and fuel brands in YouGov BrandIndex. In March 2022, however, an automaker came out on top anyway.

Skoda has claimed the UK’s Automotive Advertiser of the Month for March 2022. Data from YouGov BrandIndex shows that, between 1 – 31 March, the brand registered an uplift in Ad Awareness scores (which track whether consumers have seen an advertisement for a brand in the past two weeks) of 1.8 points: rising from 3.2 to 5.

Earlier this year, the brand unveiled its ENYAQ Coupe iV range, including its all-electric vRS (a first for this particular line). It also revealed pricing and specs for its new FABIA Monte Carlo ahead of its annual press conference. These combined efforts, among others, likely had more to do with Skoda’s success in raising ad awareness over this period than any individual campaign.
