US Automotive Advertiser of the Month: Hyundai

Hyundai is the US Automotive Advertiser of the Month for January 2022. With Ad Awareness scores, which measure whether consumers have seen an ad for a car brand in the previous two weeks, going from 12.9 to 14.2 between January 1-31, the Korean automaker saw an overall improvement of 1.3 points.

Hyundai has enjoyed a period of high activity over the past year in the run-up to the launch of its 2022 Tucson SUV, as well as a new version of its Ioniq hybrid hatchback. To promote the latter, Hyundai released a Jason Bateman-starring video called “History of Evolution” – starting in caveman times (always a risk, considering GEICO’s previous, well-known efforts with this kind of theme…), proceeding through the Roman and Victorian periods, and finally landing in the present day. Whether these marketing efforts are successful in driving uptake of Hyundai vehicles, they have succeeded in capturing some extra consumer eyeballs.
