YouGov and Philanthropy Age conduct pioneering study
With the UAE and Saudi Arabia at the forefront of providing foreign aid to the world, philanthropy is embedded in the social fabric of the Gulf region.
Taking this spirit into account, YouGov is partnering with Philanthropy Age magazine to conduct a pioneering study to analyze giving behavior among Arabs living in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
"GCC countries are the top donors globally, but little is known about the top causes GCC Arabs believe in," said Kailash Nagdev, UAE Managing Director at YouGov. "The first Arab Giving Survey in partnership with Philanthropy Age will help charitable organizations build a strategic view of their supporters to build effective and targeted donation campaigns for the future".
The inaugural Arab Giving Survey will ask respondents extensively about their donation habits, how much they donate, to whom they donate, and how often they donate. It will reveal what motivates and frustrates them, how they prefer to donate, and what they think about when they are looking to donate.
"The Arab Giving Survey will offer a snapshot of modern attitudes to the culture of giving endemic within the region, shed light on donors’ priorities, and suggest how potential donors can best be reached," said Leonard Stall, CEO of Touchline FZ-LLC, publisher of Philanthropy Age.
Philanthropy Age is a quarterly title dedicated to fostering thoughtful giving across the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia region. It is published by Touchline with the support of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the world’s largest private foundation.
The Arab Giving Survey results will be released later in 2015.
