67% of Australians would vote for Kamala Harris for President
YouGov’s latest Public Data poll has found that 67% of Australians would vote for Kamala Harris if they had a vote in the US Presidential election over Donald Trump at 33%.
Support for Harris is in clear majority amongst people who in 2022 voted Liberal (58%), Labor (79%), Greens (90%) as well Yes (81%) and No (58%) voters in the Voice referendum. 80% of One Nation voters said they would vote for Trump.
Paul Smith, Director of Public Data said, “Kamala Harris has the support of two thirds of Australian voters following the Democratic Convention, with a broad spectrum of support that includes a majority of Australians who vote Labor, Coalition and Green and Australians who voted Yes and No in the voice referendum.”
The poll was taken immediately after the Democratic Convention between 23rd and 28th of August of a politically representative sample of 1543 Australians.
The satisfaction for both party leaders once again remains negative.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s score satisfaction rate is -11 (41% satisfied, 52% dissatisfied).
Comparatively, the Leader of the Opposition Peter Dutton’s score is less negative coming in at -5 (42% satisfied, 47% dissatisfied).
However Anthony Albanese remains as the preferred Prime Minister, but his margin is only 5%, 43% are prefer of Albanese, while 38% prefer Dutton.
19% of Australians don’t prefer either party leader as Prime Minister.
