July UK Advertisers of the month: Amazon Prime, Andrex and Heinz Tomato Ketchup
According to data from YouGov BrandIndex, which tracks perceptions toward brands on a daily basis, Amazon Prime registered the biggest increase in Advertising Awareness for July 2024 of all brands YouGov tracks in the UK. The online service saw an uplift of 9.2 percentage points in the observation period.
Amazon Prime Day, the brand’s annual two-day shopping event, held in UK on July 16 and 17 could be attributed to the Ad Awareness score going up from 31.3% on June 26 to 40.5% on July 24.
Andrex is the brand with the second-highest uptick in Ad Awareness. The toilet tissue brand increased from 10.6% on July 6 to 17.4% on July 25 (+6.8 percentage points). Andrex launched two ads to support England’s bid to win the UEFA European Football Championship final. One building on the “Squeaky Bum Time” phrase – a football term coined by Sir Alex Ferguson and the second, ‘Hold Nothing Back’, as England prepared to play Switzerland in the Quarter finals.
Rounding out the top three brands with the biggest uplift in Ad Awareness in the UK this July is Heinz Tomato Ketchup. The food company saw a lift of 6.4 percentage points.
Methodology: BrandIndex collects data on thousands of brands every day. A brand’s Ad Awareness score is based on the question: “Which of the following consumer brands have you seen an advertisement for in the past two weeks?” and delivered as a percentage. The data is based on the interviews of British adults aged 18+ between June 26 and July 25, 2024. Learn more about BrandIndex.
