Big Bang Theory beats bingeing best: The UK’s most-streamed TV, September 2023

The Big Bang Theory, Friends and Sex Education are the most-streamed titles in Britain for September, followed by The Office.

Viewers of bingeable The Big Bang Theory outdid themselves this month, streaming an average of 64 episodes each, which is the highest number of views per viewer of any title on these lists since YouGov began publishing streaming figures. The previous record was 55 episodes of The Big Bang Theory per viewer in July, 2023.

Streaming numbers for other old favourites remain high for September, with Friends, The Office and Brooklyn Nine-Nine, all making the top five with higher views per viewer than the other titles.

Sex Education is the most-streamed newcomer to the list. This is no surprise, given that the British made puberty-dramedy was one of the buzziest titles in Britain all month, according to social listening tool YouGov Signal. The fourth and final season, released on September 21, drove nearly 50m episode views before the end of the month, making it the third most-streamed title.

Another British hit, Top Boy made the list this month as the sixth most-streamed title. This coincides with the release of Season Five of the crime drama, and a whole lot of online buzz. The title was also the second most in-demand title for September 16-30.
