To date, this has been done without the help of advertising, relying instead on word of mouth and PR generated by outspoken billionaire CEO Elon Musk. But following Musk’s acquisition of Twitter (now X) and the social platform’s subsequent struggles to retain advertisers, the Tesla CEO hinted that it might be time to “try a little advertising” as more EV competition arrives.
