US: The CW Network to air live football, basketball games - Which sports do viewers watch on TV?
American broadcast network The CW has inked a four-year deal to air live college basketball and football games from the Atlantic Coast Conference starting this fall. Although this marks the network’s foray into airing live college sports, The CW earlier inked deals to air live LIV Golf events and highlight and interview show, ‘Inside the NFL’.
We look at YouGov data to see which sports current viewers of The CW watch on TV.
Profiles data shows us that The CW’s audience is more likely than the general US population to watch sports events on TV. Half of them have watched National Football League (NFL) on TV in the last 12 months. By comparison, 36% of the general US population watched the league in that period.
The CW audiences are also more likely than the general population to have watched Major League Baseball (MLB) on TV in the last 12 months (30% vs. 22%). NBA (25%), Division 1 College Football (24%) and NASCAR (19%) wrap up the top five sports events The CW viewers watch on TV.
