US: Clinique launches a virtual lab in the metaverse - Are its customers big on this virtual space?
American skincare and cosmetics brand, Clinique, is ramping up its metaverse-focused efforts with a virtual lab. Titled ‘The Clinique Lab’, it hosts customers in a digital environment where they can create avatars, browse products and talk with the brand’s consultants. Launched in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, the activation will enter the US market later this month.
The company debuted in the metaverse in 2021. What exactly do current customers feel about this virtual world?
According to YouGov Profiles - which covers demographic, psychographic, attitudinal and behavioral consumer metrics - 63% of the beauty brand’s customers and 55% of the general American population agree with the statement that they are “worried about the potential implications of the metaverse.”
Clinique’s customers (56%) are considerably more likely than the general US population (35%) to agree with the statement that “the metaverse is the future of online interaction.”
Where 55% of Clinique’s consumers agree with the statement that they are “confident that [they] understand what the metaverse is”, 43% of the brand’s customers agree with the statement that “the metaverse is just a fad.”
