US and GB: Ferrari races into esports space with gaming company deal - Are fans big on gaming?
Ferrari has brought Australian online gaming company, Virtual Gaming Worlds (VGW), on board as its Formula 1 racing team’s premium partner. The multi-year partnership between the two will be effective from the first Formula 1 Grand Prix of the season and aim at boosting Ferrari’s esports aspirations.
Are Formula 1’s current fans big on gaming?
According to YouGov Profiles - which covers demographic, psychographic, attitudinal and behavioral consumer metrics - 34% of Americans who support Ferrari’s F1 team identify as casual gamers, while 28% identify as core/mid-core gamers. About 20% of them identify as hardcore gamers.
In comparison to respondents in the US, a higher proportion (44%) of Britons who support Ferrari’s F1 team identify as casual gamers. Further, 23% of them identify as core/mid-core gamers, while just 10% claim to be hardcore gamers.
