US: Roku beats own revenue estimates for Q4 - How did the brand perform in previous quarters?
American digital media company, Roku, has surpassed its quarterly revenue estimates for Q4 2022. It reported a total net revenue of $867.1 million for the quarter, up from its earlier prediction of $800 million, and 23.9 billion streaming hours in Q4 2022. Roku’s Q1 2023 guidance is still cautious of prevalent economic factors.
How have the last two quarters been like for Roku?
According to YouGov BrandIndex - which tracks consumer sentiment towards thousands of brands daily - Roku’s Current Customer score was 27% at the start of Q3 2022. It reached a high of 29% on September 14, 2022, before dipping to 26% on September 30, 2022, as the quarter ended.
In Q4 2022, the brand’s Current Customer score increased two percentage points, going from 26% on October 1, 2022 to 28% on December 31, 2022.
Similarly, its Satisfaction score - which measures whether customers are satisfied or dissatisfied with the brand - remained mostly unchanged, going from a net score of 24 on July 1, 2022 to 23 on September 30, 2022.
It climbed two points in Q4 2022, from a net score of 23 on October 1, 2022 to 25 on December 31, 2022.
Data from YouGov Profiles - which covers demographic, psychographic, attitudinal and behavioral consumer metrics - suggests that currently, at 12%, Roku is the most preferred digital streaming service/device for Americans. Amazon FireTV (5%) and Apple TV (3%) follow Roku.
