US Financial Advertiser of the Month: UnitedHealthcare
From this edition of Financial Advertiser of the Month onwards, we’re changing the methodology to encompass a wider range of financial services brands beyond consumer banks. This month’s winner is UnitedHealthcare, which saw an uplift of 2.5 points in its Ad Awareness score (which measures whether consumers have seen an advertisement for a brand in the past two weeks) – rising from 10.4 to 12.9 between March 1 and March 31.
The uptick in advertising may have as much to do with UnitedHealthcare’s marketing campaigns as with broader strategic moves such as its recent $5.4bn acquisition of LHC Group – part of an effort to increase its offering in terms of home healthcare alongside its in-clinic services. The deal will expand the nation’s largest health insurer to encompass services for older patients with chronic illnesses and injuries.
Data from YouGov Profiles shows that a sizable minority of the US public may prefer healthcare that comes to them: a third (33%) outright say “hospitals really freak [them] out”.
