A new YouGov survey, polling 18,000 respondents across 17 markets, reveals that New Year’s resolutions remain a popular tradition, with the majority of polled respondents planning to make some resolutions for 2025. As in previous years, improving physical fitness tops the list, but there is a strong focus on financial and mental health.

The survey finds that 52% of consumers worldwide intend to improve their physical health in 2025. This goal is especially prominent in Indonesia and India (65% each), followed closely by Italy (64%) and Singapore (61%).

In addition to physical health, 38% of respondents aim to manage their finances better, with Indonesians again leading the way (74%), followed by Hong Kongers at 60%. Other popular resolutions include spending more time with family (35%), improving mental health (33%) and more travel (30%).

Specific data from UAE, where 1,006 residents were surveyed, shows that physical fitness remains the most popular goal for 2025, with 58% of respondents selecting this as their top priority. Following closely are goals to manage money better (52%) and spend more time with family and friends (50%).

The next most common resolutions include improving mental health (42%), spending less time on phones (35%), reducing time on social media, and traveling more (32% each).

Among different genders, women are more likely than men to prioritize health and travel in 2025. Specifically, 62% of women plan to improve their physical fitness, and 36% aim to travel more, compared to 56% and 30% of men, respectively.
