Canadian Advertisers of the Month for November: Canadian Tire, Uber Eats, and Walmart
November’s Canadian Advertisers of the Month are Canadian Tire, Uber Eats, and Walmart, each showing significant increases in Ad Awareness as tracked by YouGov BrandIndex. Ad Awareness measures the percentage of consumers who have seen an advertisement for a brand in the past two weeks.
Canadian Tire leads with an Ad Awareness increase of 6.6 percentage points, rising from 28.1% to 34.7%. This boost may be related to this video spot featuring the Chicago ballad, “If You Leave Me Now”. The brand also runs extensive promotional campaigns during the holiday season, featuring deals on decorations, gifts, and winter essentials.
Uber Eats follows with a 6.4 percentage point rise, moving from 19.9% to 26.3%. The increase in Ad Awareness may be related to Uber Eats’ targeted advertising campaigns as well as more broadly-targeted video ads such as the “Football is for Food” series.
Walmart rounds out the top three with a gain of 6.2 percentage points, rising from 35.7% to 41.9%. Walmart’s significant increase in Ad Awareness is likely linked to their early Black Friday sales and recent series of holiday-themed video ads.

Methodology:
YouGov BrandIndex collects data on thousands of brands daily. A brand’s Ad Awareness score is based on the question: “Which of the following consumer brands have you seen an advertisement for in the past two weeks?” Data is derived from surveys of Canadian adults aged 18 years and above, covering the period from October 26 to November 25, 2024. Ad Awareness scores are based on a four-week moving average, and changes are calculated by taking the difference between the highest and lowest scoring days within the period.
