Gaming Buzz – May 2024: Call of Duty flies high

One of UK’s most popular gaming franchises claims the top spot in the Gaming Buzz Movers round up for May 2024. Call of Duty rose 10.9 points among gamers in Britain, amid headlines that the next release – Black Ops 6 – will be available on Xbox Game Pass. A live action trailer for the game was also released late in the month.

Fortnite claims a close second spot, probably in response to the launch of season 3 of chapter 5 in the second half of the month. Minecraft rounds off the list in Britain.

Across the pond, World of Warcraft secured the top spot with a 5.5-point growth in Buzz over its April average. The release of the Dark Heart content update has been among the notable triggers for the most recent wave of discussions and headlines about the franchise.

UFC takes the second spot among American gamers, probably bolstered by the most recent fighter drops and gameplay updates late in May. StarCraft rose 3.6 points to close out the top three in Britain.
