Football Buzz Movers – April 2024: Bayer Leverkusen, Inter soar

Bayer Leverkusen’s first ever Bundesliga title win has unsurprisingly generated a lot of positive commentary around the Xabi Alonso led club. The club, which also advanced to the final of the DfB Pokal after their April match against, gained 12.3 points in Buzz score among consumers in Germany.

Borussia Dortmund, whose April exploits include an aggregate win over Atletico Madrid in their Champions League quarter-final bout, gains the second spot in the German segment of the list. Real Madrid, Heidenheim and RB Leipzig are the other names on the list.

Over in Italy, Inter – who secured their Serie A victory with a win over rivals AC Milan – claims the top spot with a jump of 12.2 points. The second spot goes to a more surprising name, with Salernitana gaining 4 points in spite of their relegation from the Serie A getting confirmed in April. Atalanta, Lazio and Sassuolo round off the list.

Chelsea claims the top spot among UK consumers with a 5.2-point improvement in Buzz scores. The club’s women’s side strengthened their bid for a potential Women’s Super League title with a dominant win over Aston Villa in April, but currently narrowly trail Man City in the table. Newcastle United, Leicester City, Crystal Palace and Real Madrid also make appearances.

Barcelona tops the charts in Spain, possibly an outcome of strong results from the women’s team who went past Chelsea to put the club in the final of the Champions League, and also strengthened their claim to the Primera Division crown. La Liga table toppers Real Madrid claim the second spot on the list, gaining 6.7 points for an average Buzz score of 38.8 in April, comfortably the highest out of all clubs in this edition of the Football Buzz Movers. Sevilla, PSG and Lazio round off the list.

Lyon, who made it to the final of the men’s French Cup as well as the final of the Women’s Champions League, claims the top spot in France. Monaco, Borussia Dortmund, Metz and PSG also make it to the top five.
