GB: Jet2 reports spur in demand for package holidays - Are customers big on package bookings?

Travel company Jet2holidays has said that it has recorded a boost in demand for package holidays, with Britons seeking “certainty on spending” against the cost-of-living crisis in Great Britain. People booking packages accounted for a larger share of the company's total customers last year with package holidays being seen as a “resilient and popular product, particularly during difficult economic times," Jet2holidays said.

We look at YouGov data to see what mode of booking Jet2holidays’ customers and Britons in general opted for when booking their last holiday.

According to YouGov Profiles - which covers demographic, psychographic, attitudinal and behavioural consumer metrics - Jet2holiday’s customers are significantly more likely than the general British population to have opted for package booking (both transport and accommodation booked together) while booking/planning their last holiday (63% vs. 25%).

Less than a third (30%) of the brand’s customers booked accommodation and transport independently. The general population is more likely to have booked their last holiday this way (58%).

When it comes to methods typically used to book transportation in particular when on a holiday, 41% of Jet2holiday’s customers book directly on official websites and 31% book via online travel websites like Expedia or Travelocity.
