GB: ASOS, Capital One partner to launch a credit card – How do ASOS’ shoppers make payments?
British online fashion and cosmetics brand, ASOS, has partnered with American bank holding company, Capital One, to launch a credit card. Available to “eligible shoppers” later in 2023, customers can use the card to avail features such as Section 75 protectiona on purchases exceeding £100 when they shop using the credit card.
But which payment methods do the online-only retailer’s customers currently use?
According to YouGov Profiles - which covers demographic, psychographic, attitudinal and behavioral consumer metrics - a majority (91%) of ASOS’ customers use debit cards to complete their online purchases. A majority of the general British population (73%) also prefers debit cards when shopping online.
Amongst ASOS’ customers, PayPal (59%), credit cards (44%), Apple Pay (34%) and buy now, pay later (22%) are the other top choices when making online payments.
