US and GB: Spotify tests NFT-gated playlist - What do listeners think of NFTs and cryptocurrency?
Spotify is currently testing playlists that can be accessed or unlocked using non-fungible tokens. For this, the streaming service has partnered with a number of communities. These playlists will be actively updated during the three-month trial period. To access the playlist, Andoid users in the US, UK, Germany, Australia and New Zealand, need to link their crypto wallet to their Spotify account.
What do Spotify’s current customers feel about cryptocurrency?
According to YouGov Profiles - which covers demographic, psychographic, attitudinal and behavioral consumer metrics - 63% of Spotify’s customers who use mobile/cellphones with an Android operating system in the US agree that they “don’t really understand cryptocurrency.” In Great Britain, Spotify customers who are Android users are more likely (68%) to agree with the statement.
Similarly, 53% of Spotify listeners in the US who also use Android phones agree that “cryptocurrencies are not to be trusted”, while 59% of them in the UK share this sentiment.
