US: Walgreens’ now offers same-day delivery 24/7: Will the service find favor among customers?
Walgreens has announced that its same-day delivery program will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The service will be available at 400 locations across the country and offer delivery of over 27,000 products, including groceries, household essentials and beauty and personal care products. Orders can be placed through the retailer’s website and app.
Is there interest among Walgreens current customers towards same-day delivery?
According to YouGov Profiles – which covers demographic, psychographic, attitudinal and behavioral consumer metrics – 26% of Walgreens’ customers and 19% of the general US population would consider using same-day delivery services within the next 12 months.
Almost four in ten Walgreens customers (37%) and a third (29%) of the general population would consider using grocery delivery services in the next 12 months.
Currently, more than half (51%) of Walgreens customers and 44% of the general US population choose to visit a pharmacy with the most convenient location (for example, close to the place of work/home) to purchase pharmaceutical products. More than one in ten (13%) of Walgreens customers and a less number of general Americans (9%) opt for online pharmacy services.
