Gaming and esports have seen dramatic growth in KSA in recent years, driven by a rapidly expanding fan base and significant investment from the government and industry to build and develop world-class facilities, infrastructure, and events. The country’s Communications and Information Technology Commission forecasts that the national gaming market will grow by 250% over the next eight years, meaning that by 2030, the sector’s contribution to the gross domestic product will have multiplied 50 times.
YouGov data shows that 29% of KSA residents are interested in esports, which is significantly higher than in the USA (11%), Japan (8%), Germany (8%), and the UK (4%).
