In the first YouGov/Times voting intention figures for 2021, Labour drop their lead from Christmas 2020 and are tied with the Conservative party, both holding 39% of the vote. This represents a +2 change for the Conservatives and a -2 change for the Labour party from our last voting intention on the 21-22 December 2020.

Elsewhere, the Liberal Democrats are on 6% (+1), the Greens are also on 6% (+1) and the Brexit Party are on 3% (-1).

Keir Starmer continues to lead over Boris Johnson on our 'best Prime Minister' question. Slighly over a third of Britons (35%) think the Labour leader would make the better head of government, compared with 30% for the incumbent. Just under a third (32%) remain undecided. Please note that results for this question are versus results from the 15-16 December 2020.
