AI adoption in the betting industry – exploring the perception of American gamblers

Seven out of ten bettors who participate in gambling activities at least once a month have expressed a willingness to pay for AI-powered gambling assistance tools. This data highlights a significant interest in AI betting tools, indicating a strong market potential for such innovations.

Our data further reveals the varied preferences of gamblers regarding payment methods. Two-fifths believe that their online betting provider should offer it for free (41%), but a considerable proportion say would be interested in paying for the AI tool after trying it for free during a trial period (39%). Trust is a significant factor, with two in five gamblers expressing a willingness to pay if the AI tool was promoted by a person or company they trust (39%). More than one-third of bettors would be prepared to shell out for a one-time payment option (36%) while a slightly lower percentage would be willing to consider a monthly or yearly subscription option (35%).

Our data also sheds light on bettors' perceptions of the wider positive applications of AI by betting companies. Nearly two in five bettors (38%) see the detection of illegal market rigging through monitoring betting patterns as a valuable use of AI. One in three bettors (34%) appreciate the role of AI in tracking cash inputs and withdrawals to combat money laundering. Nearly the same percentage (33%) value the use of AI in improving the odds offered on sports.

Better online chat facilities for customer-provider communication and the detection of illegal market rigging through monitoring betting patterns is supported by one-third of gamblers who bet at least once a month, Lastly, about three in 10 bettors (29%) appreciate the AI-driven expansion of betting markets, such as more real-time options.

In summary, bettors recognize the potential of AI in enhancing the security, integrity, and overall experience of betting platforms.
