Egypt Advertisers of the Month for May – Amazon, Halwani Bros, and Mountain View

May’s Egypt Advertisers of the Month are Amazon, Halwani Bros, and Mountain View, each exhibiting significant increases in Ad Awareness as tracked by YouGov BrandIndex. Ad Awareness measures the percentage of consumers who have seen an advertisement for a brand in the past two weeks.

Amazon leads with a notable rise in Ad Awareness, moving from 35.7% on April 30 to 44.6% on May 25, an increase of 8.9 percentage points. The growth follows back-to-back retail campaigns that likely contributed to sustained visibility. Amazon Egypt’s Eid Sale, which ran from March 18 - to 29, may have created early momentum heading into April, while the brand’s Mega Summer Sale (May 27–31) likely reinforced its presence toward the end of May. Supporting this heightened exposure, a short promotional video from Amazon Egypt’s YouTube channel released in May garnered nearly 880,000 views, further boosting consumer recall.

Halwani Bros follows with an increase of 7.5 percentage points, rising from 13% on April 30 to 20.5% on May 25. Mountain View rounds out the top three with a gain of 7.2 percentage points, increasing from 16.8% on April 28 to 24.0% on May 21.

Methodology: YouGov BrandIndex collects data on thousands of brands every day. A brand’s Ad Awareness score is based on the question: “Which of the following consumer brands have you seen an advertisement for in the past two weeks?” (% Yes). Data from surveys of adults aged 18 years and above residing in Egypt from 26 March to 25 April 2025. Ad Awareness scores are based on a four-week moving average. The change in scores for each brand is calculated by taking the difference between the highest and lowest scoring days within the period.
