The most-streamed TV in the UK, March 2025: The Big Bang Theory, Adolescence, and Friends

Clifton Mark - May 5th, 2025

The Big Bang Theory, Adolescence, and Friends topped the streaming charts in the UK for March 2025, with Netflix continuing to dominate and Prime Video landing two shows in the top ten. This month’s data highlights two clear streaming styles: older classics pulling huge binge numbers from smaller, loyal audiences, and new releases reaching broader crowds but with lighter engagement.

Classic comedies led the way on binge behavior. The Big Bang Theory stayed at #1 with 75.4 million views from just 1.2 million viewers, averaging a massive 62 views each. Friends followed close behind at #3, with 59.3 million views and 38 views per viewer. The Office (US) and Brooklyn Nine-Nine also posted high engagement, with 33 views per viewer each.

Newer shows told a different story. Adolescence, a Netflix original, debuted at #2 with 66.4 million views from 17.7 million viewers, but with just 4 views each — suggesting most people watched it once without heavy rewatching. Reacher landed at #4 for Prime Video, bringing in 43 million views from 8.5 million viewers, again showing strong reach but lighter binge behavior.

Other new titles like LOL: Last One Laughing UK, Formula 1: Drive to Survive, and Toxic Town filled out the lower half of the chart with similar patterns: big audiences, fewer repeat streams.

Meanwhile, Severance on Apple TV+ continued to build momentum, pulling in 21.9 million views and landing in the top ten again.

March’s numbers show a clear trend: streaming hits today come from two camps — old favorites that people binge endlessly, and new shows that everyone checks out at least once.
