UK Auto Advertiser of the Month: Bristol Street Motors
Bristol Street Motors registered the biggest increase in Ad Awareness for November 2023 among all the cars, car sales, services and fuel brands we track in the UK, making it the Auto Advertiser of the Month. According to YouGov BrandIndex, which tracks perceptions toward brands daily, the automotive retailer saw an improvement of 3.4 percentage points, going from 7.0 on October 27 to a peak of 10.4 and settling at 9.1 points on November 28.
At the beginning of this month, Bristol Street Motors’ parent company, Vertu Motors, was named the official car dealer of the English Football League, thus renaming the EFL Trophy the Bristol Street Motors Trophy until 2025.
Earlier this year, Bristol Street Motors partnered up with the EXCELR8 Motorsport race team as they competed in the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC). Judging from the strong Ad Awareness results, at the very least the brand succeeded in connecting with the audience and lingering in their memories.

Methodology: YouGov BrandIndex collects data on thousands of brands every day. A brand’s Ad Awareness score is based on the question: “Which of the following consumer brands have you seen an advertisement for in the past two weeks?” Data from surveys of adults aged 18 years and above residing in UK from October 27 and November 28. Ad Awareness scores are based on a four-week moving average. The change in scores for each brand is calculated by taking the difference between the highest and lowest scoring days within the period.
