Decoding behaviour of the Indian festive shopper

Comparing India’s mega-festivals might be unfair, but as a shopping festival, there is a clear winner – Diwali. YouGov's latest data reveals that 59% of urban consumers said that they will shop this Diwali, compared to only 39% who will shop during big online sales. A question now arises, what is catching their (and their wallet’s) attention this Diwali?

Understanding urban India's consumer behaviour during the festive season has become challenging due to the changes inflicted by the pandemic. In the last two years, people altered not only how and where they shopped, but also what they bought, and why they bought it.
